Cement exports surge by 58.77pc to $135.925m in six months

 During the initial half of the fiscal year 2023-24, cement exports surged by 58.77%, compared to the same period last year, reaching US $135.925 million, as reported by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

Quantity-wise, cement exports also saw a notable increase of 104.50%, rising from 1,713,289 metric tons to 3,503,650 metric tons.


In December 2023, cement exports experienced a significant year-on-year growth of 151.11%, totaling US $21.927 million compared to US $8.732 million in December 2022.

Additionally, on a month-on-month basis, there was a 4.86% increase in cement exports in December 2023 compared to November 2023, as per PBS data.
